Dean Ying graduated from St. John's University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies. He attended Elisabeth Haub School of Law and graduated Cum Laude with an Advance Certification in International Law in 2023.

During law school, Dean was an Editor for an independent legal journal that surveyed ongoing developments on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Telephone Consumer Protection Act for distribution to law firms that engaged in the practice. After law school, Dean worked at the Lee Litigation Group, PLLC, handling wage and hour matters concerning the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York Labor Law.

Dean is admitted to practice law in New York.
